PREPARATION FOR YOUR LOGO/BRANDING DESIGN CONSULTATION

Beginning the consultation process is a truly exciting time (and a somewhat nerve wracking one too!) but it is without question, most important to be prepared.  Your design consultation will be scheduled when we have received a brand board, fully completed profile and contract, and we feel enough detail has been provided. Projects will not be charged until the day work begins.  Please see our notes below to help guide you through the process.

Profile/Questionnaire – Please consider these questions very carefully as this information will help shape the concepts you receive. The profile can be viewed and submitted at:  http://thethoughtfultype.com/profile/ (It may help to make a note of the questions first and really think them over before filling out and submitting the online copy.)

Brand/Inspiration Board – It is extremely important to have a solid grasp of your business in general (style, philosophy, goals etc.) as well as what you want your brand to portray. When considering your requests for a brand/logo, please carefully consider what you include here and utilize the resources below for ideas and inspiration. The inspiration/brand board should give us a visual idea of what you are looking for (to be used at the design consultation in conjunction with the questionnaire). It should include anything that you might like to see reflected in the new brand. You could include color examples, textures, images, patterns, style ideas and other logos you are drawn to etc. This can be provided in any format you are comfortable with e.g. Word, PDF, PSD, e-mail attachments etc.

Please consider why (color, feel, layout, font illustration etc.) you are drawn to each item and list any notes that may help in our design process.

Thinking these questions over fully now will prepare you for your consultation and save unnecessary revisions/cost at a later time. We want you to LOVE your new brand/logo, so help us to help you. We cannot read your mind (although we REALLY wish we could!), so send us your requests and above all trust that you are working with a designer who is hugely experienced in this area. Do not be afraid to ask questions (in fact, we would love you to), and use whatever medium you like to convey your ideas/thoughts to us.

After your design consultation, you should expect to receive your concepts approximately 4-5 weeks later. This does vary depending on the complexity of the concepts, any holidays in the design time, and the flow of creativity. Please let us take our time to achieve the best possible results for you and your brand. If revisions need to be made, we really do appreciate honest, but constructive feedback.

Please do not hesitate to ask if you have any questions at all – hello@thethoughtfultype.com
